Once there was, and once there wasn't, a terrible haunted wood deep in a place outside time. Old wives whisper that all lost things fall into those woods. Ancient treasures, forbidden secrets, and lost loved ones. If you wander off the path, or lose your way seeking someone, you might just find yourself there - in the Neverwood.

In the dark depths of those woods, all faces are shadowed. None can tell friend from foe. You can't even remember the face of your own mother. Did you have a mother? Or was that just a dream? You find you cannot recall. The fog is so thick around you, and no sunlight reaches through the trees…

is a rules-light megagame of Social Deduction, Storytelling and Exploration. You will join 30-100 other players in an all-day game event, all on secret teams with their own agendas. You'll need to explore the forest, uncover mysteries, make alliances, and balance your public and secret goals to find what you seek - or become lost yourself.

FAQ's

What's a megagame?

Megagames blend together elements of RPGs, Board Games and Live-Action Role-Playing (LARP). You and a large group of players will gather together in a full-day event where your actions will shape an emergent story.

Like a board game, there are some rules to follow, tokens to trade and cards to manage - but like an RPG, there are ways to go outside those rules and be creative. You'll have goals to aim for, but there's no one winner or loser. Making a great story is more important.

Here's a neat video that shows an example of a Megagame in action.

Do I need to have played a megagame before?

No! On the day, we’ll run through everything you’ll need to know in person. We'll send you a rulebook, but you don't need anything else. This game is designed to be approachable for beginners.

Will I need anything?

No! Food and a full copy of all the rules and components you need to play will be included in the ticket price. We'll send you a rulebook before the day. Costumes are encouraged, but not required.

Is this a team game?

Yes! When the event goes live, you'll be able to sign up in a public team. This game has a range of team sizes, all the way from 1 player up to 7 players. So you'll be able to sign up with a bunch of friends, or go solo.

Where Am I?

Hush. There's no need to fear. Soon, the sun will unmask, and all will be revealed.

Social Deduction

mask_edited.png

Neverwood is inspired by Social Deduction games like Blood on the Clocktower and Two Rooms and a Boom. Every player has both a public team and a secret team. Unlike classic traitor games, there are multiple different secret teams with their own goals.

Everyone has a special ability, everyone has a secret, and each secret team has their own agenda. You'll need to bluff, negotiate, make alliances and solve mysteries to succeed.

Oh - and there's no player elimination. Everyone is fully involved until the very end.
